UTZ is one of the largest programs for responsibly produced coffee, tea, cocoa and hazelnut in the world, working across all continents with leading brands and retailers, such as Mars, Ahold, IKEA, Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE), Ferrero, Migros, Tchibo and Nestlé.

UTZ is headquartered in Amsterdam and works closely with its partner network in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We are looking to hire a: 

 

Partnerships officer

 

The Partnerships department develops strategic alliances with key stakeholders from civil society, private and public sectors and donors. As Partnerships officer you write consistent and convincing proposals, which include well-defined result areas, measurable results, budgets and impact. In the Partnerships department you work in close collaboration with the Partnerships manager who is the first point of contact for fundraising and strategic partnerships. Next to your colleagues in the Partnerships department, you are in frequent contact with internal stakeholders like the Theme leads, the Country representatives and the Account managers. Externally your contacts are companies, NGO’s and donors. You explore funding opportunities, calls for proposals and write concept notes and proposals. In some cases you act as project manager yourself. 

With your work you contribute to the objectives of UTZ by developing funding and partnerships proposals to further strengthen, develop and expand our UTZ programs. You are service-oriented and a proactive team player able to coach and support colleagues in developing and writing proposals. The Partnerships officer reports to the Head of the Partnerships department. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Identify and respond to funding needs, requests or calls for proposals and other funding opportunities

Develop and write proposals for donors and private sector partners

Bring together the necessary consortia and lead development of consortia proposals

Support and coach UTZ staff to set up proposals

Prepare presentations to promote proposals

Give input on fundraising policy and activities and support its implementation and execution

Contribute to and/or coordinates the implementation of a project

Stay informed of international trends of and developments in funding

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in management, business development, business administration, agro-economics, international development or related

Knowledge of recent developments in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainable economic development

A proven track record in writing successful (complex) project and program proposals

Excellent analytical and writing skills as well as financial literacy

Conceptually creative mind to translate requests into innovative proposals

Excellent organizational skills: planning, monitoring and follow-up to deliver on the promise

Preferably native English; Dutch and additional languages are an asset

 

Employment is based upon 40 hours/week. The position will be based in Amsterdam and open to applicants of all nationalities, however, we can only consider candidates who have or do not need a Dutch work and residency permit.
